Miami Garcia Reservoir 10/17/2009
The Palm Bay Bassmasters headed to the Miami-Garcia Reservoir South of Fellsmere for the last tournament of the regular season. We had twenty-two anglers fishing the weekend after the Strike-Zone Fall Brawl and had some awesome numbers of bass weighed-in. With a steady breeze and cool temperatures eleven anglers were able to bring limits of five to the scale and the club netted seventy-seven bass weighing in at over 123 pounds total!
First place angler is Terry Walker of West Melbourne. Terry had a limit of bass weighing a total of 13.25 pounds. His best fish of the day was a 3.37 pound fatty. Terry was fishing slow and focusing on vegetation near wind-blown channels. Nice Job El Terro !!!
Second place goes to Mark Eden of Palm Bay. Mark fished as a non-boater and proved he can still reel them in from the back of the boat. Mark had a nice limit of keeper bass weighing in a total of 11.85 pounds. His best bass was a nice 3.14 pound hawg. Way to go Mr. Bass !
Third goes to John Kinchen of Palm Bay. John was captain of the “Team Awesome” boat with Mr. Bass riding shotgun. His total weight was 11.15 pounds with five bass. His best was a 3.07 pounder. John started out the day with crankbaits and adjusted his lure selection as water conditions changed.
Big Bass Honors goes to Bob Theilacker of Rockledge with a nice 4.52 pound monster. Bob searched for clean water and found the fat ones in a nice little stretch of vegetation that was next to a windblown channel. Great Job !!!
The Craver Builders Small creel award goes to Mike Fassanella with a 1.11 pound hawgzilla !!!
Congrats are due for the newly elected officers for the 2010 season!
Club President Mike Mulligan, Vice President John Kinchen, Secretary/Treasurer John Blakey, and Tournament Director Donnie Gibbs. May we all have a great year.
